Every second year the pupils in Scoil Mhuire stage a Christmas Concert in Campile Hall. This year’s concert was held on Tues. Dec. 6th and Wed. 7th and proved to be a great success. A capacity audience of 300 each night was entertained by a wonderful variety of acts ranging from Eco- friendly “Eddie and the Penguins” by Ms Radford’s Jun/Sen infants to a tale with a twist , “The Trial of Goldilocks” from Ms Brady’s 6th. Christmas themes were also to the fore with Mrs O’Brien’s “The Three Kings” and Mr Crowley’s 3rd/ 4th classes “The Snooks Family and the Christmas Candle”. Well-loved tales were to the fore with Ms O’ Hanlon’s “Jack and the Beanstalk” , Ms Hennessy’s “Little Red Riding Hood” and Ms O’ Connor’s “Robin Hood”. A combined effort from Mr Cadogan and Ms Lawlor saw 62 children perform “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” while Ms Walsh’s 4th presented “Tribal Troubles”. A huge amount of effort went into all items and we are grateful to all the pupils, teachers, SNA’s as well as Hilda Kent and Margaret Bowe who did terrific work on the costumes. Thanks also to Jane Kent and Tanya and Mark Swan for helping with face-painting. The Parent Association organised and ran the raffle for us and we are grateful to them for their supportive role throughout. Mrs O’ Brien had the enormous task of coordinating the concert and did a terrific job!
