Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Beannachtaí Lá Fhéile Phádraig chuig gach duine ! This is Seachtain na Gaeilge at Scoil Mhuire – you might like to try out “cúpla focail” at home or get your children to teach you some phrases. We will mark our national saint with a school mass on Friday at 10.15am followed by our annual Irish concert to celebrate our language culture after the 11 o’clock break.
Monday 19th March is a Bank holiday. Easter holidays are not too far away with school closing on Friday 30th March at 12.30pm.
New staff member
We welcome Ms Anne O’ Neill to our teaching staff. She is replacing Mrs Kavanagh to the end of the school year.
First Confession
Mr Cadogan’s 2nd class are busily preparing for tonight’s (Tuesday) First Confession ceremony in St. James Church Horeswood at 7pm. We are delighted to welcome Emma Power to join her former classmates for the ceremony. Refreshments will be served by the Parent Association in the school afterwards.
Mini 7’s
Last week both girls and boys football teams had convincing first round wins and progress to the second round next week. This week it is the turn of the camogie and hurling teams to take part in round one of their competition. Best of luck to all four teams.
Sean Nolan in 6th class has been selected to represent Scoil Mhuire in a school selection game between the two senior games in Wexford Park on Sunday 18th March.
Phone recycling
If you have any old mobile phones lying about please send them in to our Jack and Jill recycling collection box. It is due for collection on March 28th . We also collect batteries and ink cartridges in designated boxes in the Hall. We also have a considerable amount of unclaimed coats hanging on a rail in the Hall. Please check if your child is missing a coat.
Seussical Musical
A huge amount of pupils(and past pupils!) will take to the stage in Campile Hall in the Horeswood Musical Society musical “Seussical” over the Easter holidays. The eagerly awaited show based on the “the Cat in the Hat” series by Dr Seuss will be staged on April 12th, 13th and 14th . Booking number is 086 0703257.
